I’ve come to say tara

‘I’ve come to say tara’ is a project about the loss of my grandfather, the helplessness I felt whilst watching his health rapidly decline, and how this loss has impacted my family. To capture this series, I used my grandfather’s compact cameras along with three rolls of expired film, representing the three months he was given by doctors. By juxtaposing my self-portraits with my film images, I aim to take the performative self-portraiture grounded in reality and move the viewer into a more ethereal and grief filled space.
